Cruising Gator

These boats are props placed in the Sumter Landing area of The Villages.  If you are not familiar with this retirement community it is an attempt to recreate a fishing village environment in the midst of shopping, restaurants, golf courses and all the things that go with developers and retirement communities.  I'm very ambivalent about the area as I live about 5 miles from the northeastern edge of the place.  I do appreciate that they have places like this where the somewhat natural grassy lakes were left and the wildlife seems to be pretty content here.  On the downside you know that the green lawns and golf courses come at a cost of a lot of water pumped from the acquifer and a lot of fertilizers running off into the water table.
