Hibiscus

Our garden is in full bloom.  Most of the plants are blooming earlier than usual due to our mild winter and early summer.  My attempts to drain the acquifer in order to keep them from dying in this drought is also helping.  The St Johns Water Management District is considering a proposal from a cattle finishing business to drill something like 300 wells in order to fatten cattle for slaughter.  This output threatens Silver Springs as well as numerous other small springs in the area.  It also threatens my water supply and everyone elses in Central Florida.  If you live in this area I encourage you to do a little research on this and speak your mind.  Silver Springs puts out about 500 million gallons of water a day and is a major contributor to the Silver, Ocklawaha and St John's Rivers.
